NEPALI ENVIRONMENTALIST DAWA BAGS WWF INTERNATIONAL AWARD
Kathmandu, May 16: The renowned mountain guide and adventure pioneer, Dawa Steven Sherpa, 28, has recently been awarded the first ever the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) International Presidents' Award.
Sherpa was awarded amidst a special ceremony at global conversation organization WWF's Annual conference in Rotterdam, the Netherland.

UDMF TO MAKE DECISION ON GOVERNMENT ON THURSDAY
Kathmandu, May 17: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), which is discontent with some of the issues of the deal reached among the major parties on Sunday, has warned to review its decision to stay at the government if the agreement was not amended.
Minister for Information and Communications and acting Chairperson of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (Republic), Raj Kishor Yadav said the UDMF leaders are holding meeting with Maoist Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal tomorrow and if the meeting failed to make agreement in concrete the Front will take bold decision.

Janakpurdham, May 15: Demand for Nepali green vegetables has gone up in the Indian market.
Farmers in Dhanusha district have been attracted to vegetable farming after the demand for green vegetables like parbal, brinjal, tomato, pumpkin, beans and bottle guard produced here increased in the markets of Bihar, the bordering Indian state.

Kathmandu, May 16: CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli has said another national consensus government would be formed within May 27.
At a programme organized in the capital on the occasion of the Nineteenth Madan-Ashrit Memorial Day on Wednesday, leader Oli said his party joined the Bhattarai-led government in order to change it and create conducive atmosphere to promulgate constitution.

PM DR BHATTARAI INSPECTS FIRE-HIT VILLAGE
Janakpurdham, May 16: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai had an on-site inspection at the fire-affected village of Aurahi in Siraha district and announced Rs 25,000 relief to each fire-affected family on Wednesday.
The district administration, Siraha said the Prime Minister visited the people affected with the massive fire and made a commitment on relief after collecting information of the fire damage.

GOVT. DECIDES TO SANCTION LOAN TO NOC
Kathmandu, May 15: The government has decided to provide loan assistance of Rs. 2.1 billion to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) for easing the supply of petroleum products.

Kathmandu, May 15: A well known environmentalist and renowned mountaineer Mr Ken Noguchi, the famous journalist Mr Jun Hiraga from Japan claimed after the research and investigation into the devastating Seti River flood area that climate change effects was to blame for the flood.

SC ALLOWS JAILED CA MEMBER GUPTA TO VOTE
Kathmandu, May 15: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday has issued an interim order in the name of Constituent Assembly (CA), asking to allow its jailed member Shyam Sundar Gupta to take part in the final-round voting.
A division bench of SC justice duo Tahirali Ansari and Girish Chandra Lal today directed the CA to make necessary arrangement for Gupta's voting inside the jail if the voting situation regarding the constitution-related bills emerges.
